The community was founded by Rev. Mother Annammal, was born in 1836 at Varaganeri, Palakarai, Trichirapalli, Tamil Nadu. She courageously went about begging for the sick and the needy, educating the little ones and praying with the cobblers. Inspired by her service, many young widows joined her. Annammal founded the first community with nine widows on 2nd February 1858.

        Moreover, It was started in Rajakamangalam Thurai on 30th May 1960. Our elders strongly believed in services of the Sisters of St. Anne. Therefore, they provided them with a piece land and helped them to construct their own house in Rajakamangalam Thurai. 

They are taking up the following apostolic work,

Assisting religious services, like holy mass and regular prayers

Decorating church and preparing altar for mass

Teaching Catechism and Regular classes in our School 

Assisting the sick and the dying

Visiting the hospitals and houses
